Meet Brinkley
Meet Brinkley
Brinkley is a one year old Boxer/Husky/Lab mix (our best guess). She was found as a baby by a volunteer who intended to adopt her, but her senior dog was not as accepting once Brinkley got older. She reached out to us, and the rest is history.
She is a very happy dog, who wants to be part of all the action, all the time. She loves to play with dogs of ALL sizes and gets along with humans of ALL age and size. She is ready for adventures and a big back yard to romp around in!

Temperment
Brinkley is your typical boxer-type personality and just a huge lover of life. She just wants to be part of the fun and all the adventure. She’s bouncy with energy to burn, goofy, and fun! Much like a boxer, when it’s quiet time, she thinks she’s a lap dog and wants to curl up with you. She loves to plays and romp around with dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Like all puppies, she will need someone willing to set rules and boundaries, which will ultimately lead to more freedom and fun.
Needs
Brinkley will be best suited to an active couple or family with older kids, willing to give them regular walks and adventures, and plenty of playtime. Those who work full time should expect to utilize a dog walker or dog day care to help burn some of that young energy.
BONUS: Brinkley has started balanced and remote collar training with a partner trainer, and we will require that the adoptee does some follow up sessions with the trainer to learn how to use the walking and off-leash tools! She did AMAZING during a week at training, as eager to please, extremely smart, and picking up new rules and skills very quickly like nice leash walking and holding a place command. Adopters should plan to continue her training to work on off-leash fun next!
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, we will only consider applicants where one adult has a more flexible schedule, as young dogs are a lot of work, and will require potty breaks, exercise, training and continued human and dog socialization as they grow up.
Training
All dogs rescued by FAVOR are crate trained, sleeping in the crate from 9pm-6am, and accustomed to some day crate time as well. Dogs are also potty trained with doggie door access. There is ALWAYS a transition period where crate cries and potty accidents WILL HAPPEN in a new home, as the dog transitions to new rules and ways to communicate.
As with ANY and ALL dogs, this dog would benefit GREATLY from professional training to continue to work on good leash manners, place command, and off-leash recall. We always recommend keeping young dogs crated when they are alone to keep them putting themselves in danger (chewing on cords, eating things that can get stuck in their stomachs, etc…)
Vetting
All dogs rescued by FAVOR are spayed/neutered and micrchobefore adoption, as well as vaccinated for rabies, bortedella, DA2PL (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis and parvovirus). Puppies WILL require DA2PL 3rd booster shots when age appropriate (between 14-18 weeks of age). It is also recommended to get the lyme vaccine in New England. All dogs and up to date on heart worm, flea, and tick treatment.
