5. STAY SOCIAL
I know, I know, how many things can you possibly like in the social media world, but that "follow" number actually adds value to us. We often apply for sponsorships with brands, co-fundraisers, and grants, and they often look for a "substantial social media following." We aren't substantial yet, but we hope to grow that number with your help!
6. VET
Please make a vet appointment with the first 7-10 days of ownership. Be sure to bring all of the dog’s paperwork that we provided. If the vet flags anythings, communicate back with us. All dogs adopted a clean bill of health upon departure of Alabama, so all should be clear. Be please read our First Vet Appointment Guide that will be emailed to you! Knowledge is power.
As a friendly reminder, all our FAVOR dogs get 1-2 rounds of dewormer and are not allowed to travel until they have clean fecal sample. Occasionally, there are residual eggs that would normally rid themselves, but with the stress of transport and a new environment, a positive fecal may present 7-10 days after transport. Please bring a fecal sample to the vet, and have your vet do another test. In the event that your dog presents with worms, your vet will prescribe another round of dewormer and you should be all set!
7. REHOMING
If for any reason you need to re-home, please contact us. It’s our policy that we need to be aware of the process of re-homing her, even if it is going to a family member. We do help re-homing a dog if there is a new stress in their life that they are having trouble adjusting to (moving, new children in the home, senior parents in the home). But only after all avenues of training or other services (such as dog day care, dog walking, etc…) have been exhausted. In the event you chose not to take the recommendation from training professionals, we are will re-home for a fee.
