WELCOME TO THE PACK TOY STORY TYKES
This is the story of a very special pregnant dog, Bonnie, who was dumped at the shelter. We rescued her in early October, where she was fed, loved, and spoiled before giving birth to nine wonderful pupppies. Bonnie’s puppies were born on October 18, in the warmth and safety of our director’s home. They have been with Bonnie ever since, and will be ready for their fur-ever families mid January. Bonnie is a petit (40lbs) young mix, perhaps hound/border collie with a wonderful temperament as a dog, just loving all humans and getting along with all creatures. As a Mom, she is caring, protective, and attentive to their every squeal and whine.
These nine puppies have never seen hardship or trauma, and have been spoiled by their Mama and loved on by all the household humans. They have weaned off breast milk, and are enjoying kibble. As they start to gain more independence, we have really started to see their personalities flourish!
Temperament
These are typical puppies who were lucky enough to be in our foster care from day one. With continued proper socialization and professional training (A MUST), they will be great family members. This liter would make great first dog or family dog, as they are still small, gentle, fun puppies. More personality details below.
Needs
These puppies will be best suited to an to an active family or couple, willing to give them regular walks, runs, trails, and adventures, and plenty of playtime. They should continue socialization with other dogs through puppy classes or play dates. Adopters should be ready to start PROFESSIONAL training (we can provide recommendations) around five-six months old to continue proper dog socialization, work on nice leash manners, and heel-side walking, and prepare for off-leash fun.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, we will only consider applicants where one adult has a more flexible schedule, as puppies are a lot of work, and will require potty breaks, exercise, training and continued human and dog socialization as they grow up.
Crate/Potty Training
All puppies and dogs rescued by FAVOR are crate trained, sleeping in the crate from 9pm-6am, and accustomed to some day crate time as well. Dogs are also potty trained with doggie door access. There is ALWAYS a transition period where crate cries and potty accidents WILL HAPPEN in a new home, as the dog transitions to new rules and ways to communicate.
As with ANY and ALL dogs, this dog would benefit GREATLY from professional training to continue to work on good leash manners, place command, and off-leash recall. We always recommend keeping young dogs crated when they are alone to keep them putting themselves in danger (chewing on cords, eating things that can get stuck in their stomachs, etc…)
Vetting
All dogs rescued by FAVOR are spayed/neutered and microchipped before adoption, as well as vaccinated for rabies, bortedella, DA2P (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis and parvovirus). Puppies WILL require DA2P 3rd booster shots when age appropriate (between 14-18 weeks of age) at the expense of the adopter. It is also recommended to get the LYME-LEPTO combination vaccine in New England. All dogs and up to date on heart worm medication and flea and tick topical treatment.
*Rabies must be administered after 12 weeks of age. If puppies travel before 12 weeks, then we will refund adopters $15 towards the cost of their rabies shot.

Bonnie - THE MOM
Age: 1-2 years old
Weight: 40lbs
Approx Full-Grown Weight: 40-45lbs
Gender: Female
Breed: Hound - Border Collie (Guess)
Temperament: Bonnie is super playful, loving, cuddly, attentive, and sweet as can be. While pregnant, she waddled around putting her head gentle in people’s laps, tail wagging, patiently waiting for a pet.
She is on the active side, and will be a great adventure partner. Those looking to adopt should plan for walks and playtime, and those who work out of the house should plan to utilize doggie day care or a dog walker during the day. She is smart and adventurous, and loves to be by her humans side. She’s great with kids, but given she’s her own babies, we’d love to see her with older kids who can play and romp around with her!
ADOPTED
Mrs. Potatohead
Age: 12 weeks (DOB: 10/19/19)
Weight: 12lbs
Approx Full-Grown Weight: 40-55lbs
Gender: Female
Breed: Hound - Border Collie (Guess)
Temperament: Mrs. Potato Head is the smartest of the bunch. First to understand the sound of kibble means breakfast or dinner, first to understand the concept of the doggie door. She is sweet as can be, and loves a good snuggle.
SPECIAL NEEDS: Mrs Potato Head was unfortunately born with what looks like a brain stem abnormality. This type of damage presents itself at approximately 4 weeks, and NONE of the other puppies have it. She likely acquired the injury while in the womb or damage during natural delivery. The brain stem is injured, leaving Mrs Potato Head with mild head tremors (a slight shaking of the head). We have seen HUGE improvements as her muscles continue to strengthen with age. With a daily dose of CBD oil to help the tremors, there is no reason Mrs. Potato Head won’t live out a full and happy life. Her last vet visit, we had to point out which puppy had the tremors because they have become so minor.
